Trail Sisters Celebration Tour – Presented by Merrell

Gina has always been stubborn and bold, so when it came to advocating for women’s rights and equality in the outdoors, she was bound to make changes. As the founder of Trail Sisters, Gina’s goal is to grow participation and opportunity in women’s trail running. Gina is also Mayor Pro Tem for the town of Buena Vista, Colorado, an active member and former Training Director of Chaffee County Search & Rescue, and Race Director for the Lake Sonoma 50 Mile, Marathon, and Trail Sisters Half Marathon.

In 2017 Trail Sisters (TS) took to the road for the purpose of meeting and speaking with the Trail Sisters Community in person. Though TS was started as an online journal, there is so much more to be learned and experienced when spending time face to face. In a nine month period, and over 27,000 miles driven, TS hosted over 30 events, visiting with women throughout the USA, Canada and China.

The original tour was so successful and fulfilling, that it would only be a matter of time before we took to the road again. And as you may have guessed, that time is now.

Trail Sisters is excited to announce our 2019 Celebration Tour, presented by Merrell!

This time around TS will travel the USA visiting various Trail Sisters Local Groups. TS Local Groups are for women only, and foster a non-intimidating, no-drop, camaraderie building community. The tour was created to celebrate these groups and what they represent, the amazing women who have joined, and to also celebrate the friendships and miles shared.

Part one of the tour takes place this spring and will cover the mid-west and east coast. Tour locations, dates and times are included on our Celebration Tour page. Part two of the tour will take place in the summer and fall, with more details to come.

Tour visits include a no-drop fun run (all abilities and paces welcomed), followed by a casual post-run grub hub conversation. TS Founder Gina Lucrezi will introduce various topics for “round table” group discussion, with additional time for participant topics and questions. And finally, it wouldn’t be a true TS event without a raffle for awesome products provided by our tour partners.

Speaking of partners, we would like to give a special thanks to our presenting partner, Merrell. Like TS, their passion and agenda is to shape trail running into a more inclusive sport. We would also like to thank our additional tour partners: Team Sierra, Julbo Eyewear, Lily Trotters, BUFF USA, Pro-Tec Athletics, and GU Energy for their amazing support. We super excited to meet more Trail Sisters, and to hear your thoughts and experiences with trail running and your local community! Be sure to visit the tour page to find an event near you, save the date, and come out for a fun night of miles, laughs, stories, food, and friends!

  1. While traveling back from Montana to California, I saw your van in Elko, Nevada. I was hoping to catch you all before you headed out but I think you were sleeping and didn’t want to disturb you. It definitely stirred my curiosity and I had to Google.your journey! I love everything that you Merrell are doing to encourage women. Thank you! Now I need to find an event I can go too!! Safe travels! Life is adventure, and I see you’re living it!
