Aimee, founder of The Running Kind, has a passion for sustainability, not only in regard to environmentalism, but also in symbiosis with training. The Running Kind is a carbon neutral events business that focuses on sustainability and inclusivity over a series of events, both races and community events. Aimee is a uniter, she is always working on something community based and connecting people within the community for future growth.
Aimee takes a values based approach with her athletes to ensure that each individual is goal setting with intent. She finds importance in establishing a “why” behind the goal and connecting it back to the values held by each athlete to build drive in the daily grind. She is a competitive trail runner always looking for new limits in sport. She loves pushing herself outside of her comfort zone with big and bold challenges – not only physically, but mentally.
"You have power over your mind - not outside events. Realize this and you will find strength."
~ Francis Sanzaro
The Running Kind is focused on sustainability in every avenue of what we do. Coaching is no different. Aimee’s coaching philosophy is to equip and inspire athletes to achieve fulfilling and sustainable performance in sport. We want to help you push the limits in a healthy and sustainable way for years to come.
Aimee has always had a curiosity for the physiology of running and an interest in applying that curiosity to training. Her background in biological studies has allowed her to hone the skills of building a training plan through the understanding of the physiological components of running. As a collegiate volleyball athlete turned elite trail runner, Aimee understands the commitment necessary to compete at a high level. She has often found herself in leadership roles in sport and is excited for this to carry over to coaching. Aimee currently holds a USATF Level I Coaching Certification.
