I’m a Registered Dietitian and Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD), but my path into sports nutrition didn’t start in a textbook. It started with a marathon that went very sideways.
In my early 30s, I decided to go for a Boston Qualifier and followed what I thought was a solid fueling plan… but it wasn’t. I ended up with the worst gut bombs and missed my BQ. That experience stuck with me and helped me to make a career change into nutrition science and later into sports nutrition so I could better understand the nuances of fueling to help other athletes avoid the same mistakes.
I often describe myself as an “adult onset athlete” and a proud member of the midlife athletic club. Over time, I’ve moved from road marathons and have dabbled in trail running, ultras, triathlons, and cycling to better experience what my athletes undergo. At age 53, I completed my second 100-mile race but soon after, a ski accident and two knee surgeries forced me into a different kind of challenge, learning how to rebuild strength and durability from the ground up all while being an older athlete who isn’t giving up on big endeavors.
That experience continues to shape how I coach. I understand both the drive to go after big goals and the reality that things don’t always go according to plan, but the right support system makes all the difference in what success can look like.
Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day; teach a person to fish and you feed them for a lifetime.

My approach blends science with real-world experience. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all plans or simply handing someone a set of numbers to follow. Instead, I look at the full picture: training, recovery, daily nutrition, metabolism, lifestyle, and when appropriate, deeper insights from genetics and diagnostic data. From there, we build a plan that aligns with your goals and is realistic to carry out in your actual life.
I’m a Registered Dietitian (RDN) and Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD). I use targeted testing when it adds value, including blood work, sweat sodium testing, resting metabolic rate (RMR), metabolic efficiency assessments, genetics, and gut health analysis. A significant part of my work focuses on women’s health, particularly supporting peri- and postmenopausal athletes as their physiology shifts and we move into our latter years of life where we can still continue to achieve big dreams!
Athletes can expect a collaborative and thoughtful process that builds confidence and independence over time. We focus on creating a fueling approach that supports performance, consistent energy, recovery, and the goals that matter most to you. This includes daily nutrition, fueling around training, hydration, and recovery, with adjustments based on how your body responds.
The goal is not just to follow a plan, but to understand how to fuel your body in a way that supports both performance and a strong, healthy life… all while still enjoying your favorite foods along the way.
