Some of Mackenzie White’s favorite running moments are those spent with her two boys, Jacob, nearly 14, and Ollie, nearly 10. When not scrambling over rocks on the trails, pounding the pavement around the neighborhood with friends, or spending time with her sons and Golden Retriever, Lemon, she works as a writer, photographer and substitute teacher. She’s currently working toward her master’s and licensure to teach middle/high school language arts, while also writing a novel. Mackenzie is happiest outdoors, whether camping, stand-up paddle-boarding, kayaking, hiking, or about anything else, in addition to running. When on the trails, her husband, Jeff, tries unsuccessfully to keep her from scaling fallen trees and scrambling up steep embankments. She loves how running truly is a metaphor for life and all its triumphs and challenges, and the amazing friends it’s brought into her life.
