Hi, I’m KIMBERLEE BOW, PSYD, MA, LPC (AZ, CO), R-DMT, CT, ACS, BC-TMH, CFE/T, RSME/T, DAIS, CCTP-11, ECDCS, CSTS, CMNCS, RYT500. Before I talk more about my professional life, it is important to acknowledge my athletic life. I grew up dancing, swimming, and ice skating and, in my adult life, I have transitioned into running, cycling, swimming, and triathlon. I consider myself an endurance athlete having completed more than one Ironman and obtaining my Six Star Marathon medal.
I am a Doctoral level Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Registered Dance/Movement Therapist (R-DMT), and Sport and Performance Consultant based in Douglas County, Colorado, focused on providing virtual services across populations. I am excited to say that my sport and performance work spans international boundaries!
In the realm of mental health, I have experience ranging from clinical to director level work. In addition I am a passionate volunteer. Volunteering with organizations such as the Veterans Administration, Alzheimer’s Association, the Red Cross, and National Jewish Health. My mental health background only adds to my ability to support athletes. It gives me an additional skill set and knowledge!
The essential thing in life is not conquering but fighting well.
I admit to being a little unique. Because of my additional training in mental health and dance/movement therapy, I incorporate body-based techniques in addition to the class sport psychology mental skills. Because of the mind-body connection and the fact that athletes use their body, it only makes sense to use the mind-body connection to help with performance.
