Step into one of Tahoe’s most iconic endurance challenges—where rugged terrain, sweeping views, and mountain grit define the journey.
The Big Chief 50K trail race features an epic course weaving together single-track and fire roads through the scenic forests between Lake Tahoe and Truckee. Runners will navigate towering pines, rocky summits, and breathtaking high-alpine vistas across elevations ranging from 6,225 to 7,500 feet, with roughly 4,500 feet of climbing along the way.

The event is owned and operated by Big Blue Adventure, which organizes several endurance events in the Tahoe area.
