It’s time to give meaning to mountain running!
Join The Running Kind for the first event of a new mountain running series, Climb It For Climate. This series will be composed of three trail races of three different distances: 5K, Half Marathon & Ultra Marathon.
Phase Three: The Highlands
In the final race of the Climb it for Climate series, runners will be taking on The Highlands. Located in northern NJ, these mountains will provide some of the toughest terrain of the series. The course will take runners through boulder fields and up mountain peaks to some of the best views in the state, including the New York City skyline! You can choose to take on nearly 7000 ft in the 50K for series points or an alternative 25K offering 2500 ft.
For this race, The Running Kind will be accepting donations for Clean Water Action. Clean Water Action is a one million member organization of diverse people and groups joined together to protect our environment, health, economic well-being and community quality of life. Clean Water Action’s campaigns focus on getting health-harming toxics out of everyday products; protecting our water from dirty energy threats – drilling and fracking for oil and gas, and power plant pollution; building a future of clean water and clean energy; and keeping our clean water laws strong and effective to protect water and health.
This is a zero carbon event, meaning we take into account the emissions released in relation to hosting this trail race. The Running Kind will be subsidizing the cost to offset the event, however there will be an extra $1 added on to your registration specifically for this cost. This $1 will offset the carbon emissions for your personal travel to and from the event. We are excited to partner with Native Energy to support a carbon offset project we believe in.
In addition to going zero carbon at this event, The Running Kind will be collecting monetary donations for Clean Water Action.
