The 14,000-acre Clarence Fahnestock Memorial State Park spans Putnam and Dutchess Counties. It is situated in a historic iron-mining area. Fahnestock truly offers “a little bit of everything” with its varied landscape which includes hemlock gorges, bald ridge hilltops, second-growth hardwood forest, mountain laurel thickets, and numerous lakes, ponds and streams. The trails challenge while the scenery delights.
For the trail runner, it is a veritable smorgasbord of terrain with numerous runnable doubletrack trails, winding single tracks, technical ascents and descents, and farm trails.
