The Ice Age Trail 50 is one of the oldest, continuously running trail ultras in the country. Founded in 1981 by the Badgerland Striders, a local nonprofit running organization, the IAT50 follows the Ice Age National Scenic Trail through Wisconsin’s Southern Kettle Moraine Forest. Organized and staffed entirely by volunteers, runners have their choice of three distances: 50-mile, 50k and Half Marathon. Challenging and scenic, the IAT50 is regarded as a “rite of Spring” by midwest ultrarunners with one of the best post-race parties in ultrarunning.
