TMC Old Tucson Trail Run, 4-Miler and 1-Miler

The coolest trail run in Arizona takes place at historic Old Tucson Studios: passing through the gates of an old frontier town, visitors are transported back in time to the mythic Wild West. Dash down the streets of Hollywood’s most famous films and walk in the footsteps of movie legends.  

The 4-mile trail race loops throughout the dusty streets, horse trails, and desert terrain of Old Tucson Studios.  The 1 mile is designed to promote daily exercise, so bring the whole family along!  

Cowboy costumes, children, and strollers are all welcome!  

Distances and Start Times

Women’s 4-Mile Trail Run, starts at 7:30 am — the 4-mile course includes single track trails, Horse Poop Alley, dirt roads, washes, and the dusty Old Tucson Main Street (wheelchairs and strollers may find this very challenging)

Open and Men’s 4-Mile Trail Run, starts at 8:30 am 

Family 1-Mile Walk/Run, starts at 8:30 am – the 1-Miler course is less technical and loads of fun for walkers, joggers, and runners of all abilities (chairs and strollers should be fine on this trail, though chair athletes may have a difficult time navigating the terrain)

Free 1-Mile Walk/Run for all under 14 years old (capped at 60), starts at 8:30 am

Free Lil’ Partners Kids 100 yard dash, starts at 9:30 am (approx)

Highlights: 

* First 600 registrants guaranteed a colorful long-sleeve souvenir shirt in “women’s cut” and “unisex cut”

* Low pricing with a la carte add-ons, so you can choose what you want: $5 for an all-day pass to the park ($15 for guests) and $10 for a pre-ordered breakfast burrito

* Cash bar with beer, spirits and more at Stage 2, at the Bitter Creek finish line

* Costume Contest: we’ll hold a western-themed costume contest at the awards ceremony — run in your western duds and try to win a costume contest prize! 

* Female and Male Age Group and Overall Prizes: Gift certificates to The Running Shop for overall and age group winners – details to be announced.

NOTE ON GENDER DIVISIONS: We are trying to make this as participant-friendly as possible, so anyone can run in either “Women’s” or “Men’s/Open” division, but only those registered as “female” are eligible for awards in the “Women’s” race, and only those registered as “male” are eligible for awards in the Men’s/Open race.  In other words, if a man wins the “Women’s” race, they will not be eligible for awards and will not be included in the “Men’s/Open” race standings and if a woman runner wins the “Men’s Open division, they likewise would not win an award and would not be included in the women’s standings.  At this writing, there is no one registered in the non-binary division and there are no awards in the non-binary division.
