Our Mission is to increase women’s participation and opportunity in trail running and hiking through inspiration, education and empowerment.
Run on a certified 50-mile loop on mostly unpaved (82% dirt, 18% macadam) roads in Central PA’s Rothrock State Forest, the race starts and finishes at Tussey Mountain Ski and Family Fun Center, just south of Boalsburg on state route 322, whose address is 301 Bear Meadows Road, Boalsburg, PA 16827. Elevation gain 5,485 ft. The race is easily accessed by air (University Park Airport) and interstate (I-80 and I-99). Visit the Accommodations page for suggestions on where to stay. The ultramarathon features 11 aid stations, with drop bag and vehicle support options. The relay is open to teams of 2 to 8 runners, who choose a rotation order to cover the course’s 12 sections. The relay features awards for men’s, women’s and mixed teams by team size, including masters and military. The weekend includes a pre-race dinner and post-race awards and celebration meal. Why do it? Just for the hill of it! The 2019 event roster featured 30 women ultramarathoners and 5 all-women relay teams.
