Colorado is home to some of the most inspiring landscapes in the country. With mountains that reach to the sky, rushing rivers, and starry nights like you’ve never seen, the Centennial state is a runner’s dream ‚Äì and you have the chance to experience it like you never have before!
The Wild West Relay starts in the foothills of beautiful Fort Collins before sending runners deep into the heart of the Rocky Mountains. This scenic and remote course takes athletes over two mountain passes and through three national forests before reaching the finish line in the idyllic ski town of Steamboat Springs. Along the way you’ll pass picture perfect mountain communities, working ranches, and the jaw-dropping vistas that typify the American west. You’ll run on dirt roads and under starry skies and when you and your team cross the finish line in Steamboat Springs ski resort*, you’ll be rewarded with a cold beer and an even colder dip in the Yampa River that winds its way right through town.
*Due to planned construction at the Steamboat Springs Resort again the summer of 2022, the Wild West Relay will finish at the Steamboat Springs Middle School. Thus, unfortunately, there will not be a beer garden.
