About Me

I am a runner and psychotherapist who loves working with women in midlife. I specialize in working with the “women who hold up the world,” eldest daughters, high achievers, super moms, and all the other women who take care of everyone else and keep the world spinning but whose own needs have often been lost.

I am an eldest daughter myself, the kind of woman who is competitive yes, but most especially with myself. I know what it feels like to know you need to do less, but to feel like there’s no one to take up the slack if you do. I have done a lot of therapy in my roughly 50 years of life and discovered that while short term behavioral therapies have their place I needed to go deeper, to understand the childhood roots of my issues and carefully and gently work to rebuild those old broken stories from the ground up. I love to work creatively with clients, incorporating somatic therapy, breathwork, Jungian (analytical psychology), and EMDR to address the roots of what you are experiencing!

Knowing your own darkness is the best method for dealing with the darknesses of other people. One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious. The most terrifying thing is to accept oneself completely. Your visions will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.

About My Business

I am EMDR trained (EMDRIA), with a Master of Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Master of Divinity. I braid together work with your body (especially the breath), nervous system rewiring with EMDR to address negative self beliefs and trauma, and analytical psychology to accompany you into the depths of the mystery that is you! Because we humans are not machines, we are not computers, and we are more than the work we do or the way we behave. Our inner world is as complex, as mysterious, and as wondrous as the natural world around us. When we have dealt with trauma and the ways your nervous system have been hijacked by unprocessed suffering we gain access to the depth of your inner world, where we can uncover your unique and powerful wisdom. I do not have the answers to your life, but I learned how to journey safely in those uncharted inner realms were we read “here there be dragons.”
