I’ve been working with endurance runners for 10 years, getting my first taste of the culture in Steamboat Springs.
I’m the strength coach and physio for Mammoth Track Club for the past five years, working with women 1500m and marathon distance runners with Olympic caliber.
I’ve also work with elite and recreational ultra runners, managing injuries (like chronic ankle sprains, stress fractures and tendinitis) and programming (strength & neurocog training).
I also love to run & dreaming of goals. I’ve been a runner since middle school but always recreationally (although I did make xc varsity as a freshman… probably my only claim to fame in the running world). I’ve experienced successes and set backs… with 2026 my first successful year back following a broken leg and pregnancy. Woof.
I love the running community & enjoy working with runners of all abilities!
Do hard things.
~ Steve Magness
I have taken a handful of trainings through USATF, Jay Dicherry founder of MOBO board, Chris Johnson, Gait Happens and Montana Running Lab.
The capacity model resonates the best with me, having previously studied and practiced manual therapy & biomechanics and found these approaches limiting. I have been successful guiding clients through injuries, without losing their fitness, through active recovery techniques and progressive return to run programming. Although, I do believe there is a place for both manual therapy and biomechanics, building capacity of your tissues is what’s going to get you back out there the quickest.
I offer injury management and return to run programming to residents of California (as this is the state I am licensed in). I also offer strength training programming, individualized to your injury history and running goals. I prefer in person visits but can do televisits as well! Come on up to Mammoth!!!
