Our Mission is to increase women’s participation and opportunity in trail running and hiking through inspiration, education and empowerment.
The Umstead 100 Ultra is a 100 mile endurance run through the William B. Umstead State Park in Raleigh, NC. You have 30 hours to complete the race. The course consists of eight 12.5 mile laps with an approximate total of 8000 feet of climb (about 1000 feet per lap). Each lap includes two fully equipped aid stations and a supplemental water point that is passed twice. Registration occurs in September of the prior year.
The Umstead 100 Mile Endurance Run is designed to help new ultra runners make the leap from 50 mile runs to the more demanding 100 mile runs. It enables runners who have difficulty finishing 100 miles in 24 hours, or just finishing 100 miles at all, the opportunity to do so when severe topography, heat, and getting lost are removed as major obstacles.
