Hey! I’m Bri, and I appreciate your interest in getting to know me as a coach.
Personally, I love to train in the mountains and get above treeline as often as possible.
Outside of spending time on the trails & in the mountains, I have found a lot of joy in cycling. I do a mix of road, gravel, and tame mountain biking.
I enjoy racing and the community that races provide, but I also love self-supported objectives, whether that’s going for an FKT, working on completing a list of peaks, or just creating a big route that looks fun.
I got into coaching because I love learning about training theory, and I wanted to help athletes work toward their potential and reach their trail/mountain goals.
My athletic background includes:
Competitive Swimmer: 15 years
XC&Track: 9 years
UH Manoā XC: 2 years
Road Running (5k,10k,1/2 marathons, marathons): 2010 – the very occasional present
Trail Running: 2013 – present
Peak Bagging & Mt Running: 2016 – present
I believe that the key to success as an endurance athlete is finding the amount of running that the athlete can handle alongside life. The amount that will allow for the most year-to-year consistency, with the least amount of injury & illness, all while keeping the training stoke alive and well. That will lead to the most adaptations over time.
I coach all athlete abilities. From people who want to try out their first trail or ultra trail race to the seasoned trail runner looking to take their training to the next level of performance. Even though I am putting more of an emphasis on coaching trail and mountain ultra athletes, I also coach athletes who like to transition to more road running &/or racing in the winter months, either to improve their speed or to be a more well-rounded runner. This also includes athletes who like to diversify their year with multiple sports and cross-train weekly in addition to their running. Think skiing in winter or cycling in spring and summer. Your current level of running fitness is less important to me than your willingness to commit to the training process. Consistency over perfection.
I am an UESCA Certified Ultrarunning Coach and an UESCA Certified Endurance Sports Nutrition Coach.

Onboarding process: To get started, we will begin with an athlete questionnaire that will help me understand your athletic background, your schedule, perceived strengths/weaknesses & goals. Once you complete the questionnaire, I’ll review your responses and we will set up an hour call to go over your responses. From there, I will get you set up on Training Peaks, based on your responses & our discussion – I’ll create a template for your goal race(s) or objectives and begin assigning your training.
