About Me

Hi! I am an UESCA Certified Ultrarunning and Endurance Nutritionist Coach. I have been racing over 25 years in distances from marathons to 250 miles and have intimate knowledge of the various courses in the Southwest Region. I have ran through many seasons of my life including pregnancy, raising children, empty nester and now post menopause. I got into coaching as a way to share my love and knowledge of the sport to others.

It is not the critic who counts: not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles or where the doer of deeds could have done better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood, who strives valiantly, who errs and comes up short again and again, because there is no effort without error or shortcoming, but who knows the great enthusiasms, the great devotions, who spends himself in a worthy cause; who, at the best, knows, in the end, the triumph of high achievement, and who, at the worst, if he fails, at least he fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who knew neither victory nor defeat

My Coaching Style / Methodology

I keep a small roster of athletes because I like to provide a high level of interaction and personalize coaching service. I use Final Surge to build out and track workouts that are specific to each person. I communicate with my athletes daily through emails, texts, phone calls and zoom. If possible, I try to support my athletes in person at races. Getting out in nature is such a powerful tool for not only for our bodies, but our minds and spirits as well. My mantra is Get Outside and Make Big Goals!

I am hoping to build some awareness in the trail and ultra community that more recognition and support needs to be provided to Master athletes in their 50s, 60s & 70+. We are seeing more older runners in the sport, but still not enough. As our bodies age and running becomes harder, I see a lot of runners drop out of the sport. This is the time when they especially need to be out running. Keeping active not only extends our lifespan but significantly improves our quality of life. Providing more age group recognition gives additional motivation for the Masters+ to keep showing up for the long run!
