I have been a runner most of my life and value it more now than ever. I ran club track as a kid, then ran cross-country and track during high school. I started running as an adult when my daughter asked me to help her train for cross-country her freshman year of high school. Nine years later I have moved from road races to ultrarunning and found a new appreciation of what my body can accomplish. I train on my own for the most part; I really enjoy early morning runs while the world is asleep. Competing in races is fun, as I like to see my training plan complete when I cross the finish line. I am an advocate for service to the running community and volunteer to help at a local race each year. Over the years I have informally mentored other women starting out with running so it is really exciting to launch my business, Dority Baker Coaching, LLC. I am a UESCA (United Endurance Sports Coaching Academy) certified ultrarunning coach. I am proud of my trail running finishes: 100m (1) 100k (1), 50M (3), 50k (5) and a variety of other distances. I ran my first 100M race in October 2021.
